Hurray for Madeline!...as  the celebrated children's book MADELINE'S CHRISTMAS by Ludwig Bemelmans  comes to life on stage as a delightful holiday musical with book and lyrics by Jennifer Kirkeby and Music by Shirley Mier. The event will also feature pre and post show scenes and seasonal songs by NYCA students.

"In an old house in Paris that was covered with vines, lived 12 little girls in two straight lines..." So begins this delightful story of 'Madeline's Christmas' and a treasured holiday children's story recounting the praises of a fearless young girl who, though seeming demure, rises to the challenge of caring for her fellow boarding school housemates. Not only does Madeline prove capable, but, with the help of a magical rug merchant who shows up in the cold of night at their doorstep, Madeline's good deeds are transformed into a miraculous holiday adventure for her entire boarding school!

 

For all generations, MADELINE'S CHRISTMAS will be a delight; featuring the uplifting and inspiring performances of the youth students of the New York Conservatory for the Arts, the only official educational center for the performing arts of the Woodstock Playhouse in our community. 

Run time: one hour 15 minutes; no intermission; photo-ops and celebration after the show.
