Direct from London’s critically acclaimed production, Woodstock Playhouse is proud to present the American premiere of  Lee Tannen’s I LOVED LUCY.  Starring Sandra Dickinson recreating her role as America’s iconic comedienne Lucille Ball. Co-starring Lee Tannen portraying himself.

 

Few people knew Lucy the way Lee did.  Distantly related by marriage Lee met Lucy as a child but cemented their close and enduring friendship as an adult; during the last decade of Lucy’s life—years mostly spent out of the spotlight and around a backgammon table.  Lee was lucky enough to be sitting across from Lucy during those years, and the laughs and tears and wonderful stories they shared paint an intimate bittersweet portrait of arguably the funniest and most familiar face in the world. Still as famous today thirty years after her death.

 

I LOVED LUCY let’s us see a side of Lucy we rarely got a chance to see; the very private side—the way she really was and the way she chose to live her life towards the end of her life.  If you love Lucy (and who doesn’t)  you’re sure to love I LOVED LUCY.
